Pure Physiotherapy

Pure physiotherapy is a clinically lead organisation who provide fully supported First Contact Physiotherapists (FCPs) to our practice.

The FCP service allows patients contacting us with musculoskeletal pain to be seen quickly by a specialist. They will be able to quickly assess, diagnose and provide information on appropriate individualised rehabilitation and management.

Musculoskeletal FCPs form part of NHS England's long-term plan to:

• Reduce the burden on GPs for patients with MSK complaints.
• Streamline the MSK pathway.
• 'Right person, right place, first time'.
• Make it easier for patients to access specialist MSK knowledge and skills.

Musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions make up to a third of a GP's caseload, and this number increases as patients get older. 85% of these patients do not need to see a GP and can be effectively managed by an experienced MSK condition.

We are very fortunate to have a team of FCPs from Pure Physiotherapy working alongside our clinical team. Some of them work remotely and will provide a initial telephone consultation with follow up if necessary. Some of them work here at Dean Cross Surgery and other practices within our Primary Care Network, and will provide face to face consultations where needed. If you have a musculoskeletal condition, please expect to be referred on to one of our FCPs.
