Vaccinations & Immunisations
Children's vaccinations are by appointment with a practice nurse.
Adults - are you up to date with your tetanus, polio and influenza
vaccinations? For rouine protection please make appointments with the
Practice Nurse.
Travel
Immunisations
We no longer hold Foreign Travel Clinics at the surgery, Unfortunately
we are no longer able to offer this service. Vaccinations can be given
at British Airways Masta Clinc, Lisson Grove, Mutley. Contact 01752
205556 to make an appointment. We can provide patients with a print
out of their vaccination history given at the surgery.

The pharmacies offer different levels of
information to travellers, which is likely to be expanded shortly. We
will keep you informed of the latest information as soon as we are
able.
It would be helpful if patients could give us details of
any immunisations received so we can update your records accordingly.

Family Planning
We offer pre-conceptual advice with your GP. (All consultations
including teenagers are the subject of total confidentiality).
Dr Hampshire:
Thursday afternoons (for discussions, coil fittings/checks, caps &
contraceptive implants).
Dr Westwood: 2
Tuesday afternoons per month (for discussions, coil fittings/checks)
Drs Padley, Wills, Woodward, Darwich: Ordinary surgery
appointments.
Emergency
contraception: Appointment with your own GP or visit a local pharmacy.
Antenatal
Dr Hampshire: Thursday afternoons
Dr Padley: 1 Friday afternoon per month
Dr Darwich: 1 Wednesday afternoon per month
Dr Westwood: 2 Tuesday afternoons per month
Dr Wills & Woodward: Ordinary surgery appointment
Midwife Clinic: 1st booking appointment Tuesday afternoons. Subsequent
appointments at Dunstone Childrens Centre.
Minor Surgery
Please consult
your own doctor first.

Wednesday afternoons.
Diabetic Clinic
Dr Hampshire: 1st Monday
afternoon per month.

Westwood: 2 Tuesday afternoons per month.
Cervical Smears &
Smoking Cessation
All women aged 25-65 years
are offered a cervical smear with the nurse, which is recommended
every 3 to 5 years. We will invite you each time your test is due. All
patients are informed of their results within 6-8 weeks or as soon as
available.
The Practice Nurses
are available to give advice and support on smoking cessation.
Medical
Reports & Certificates
Medical examinations and reports for insurance, HGV, pre-employment
etc. are performed at extended appointments. If you need an
appointment for a medical please remember to mention the purpose of
the appointment to the receptionist. As these are not covered by the
NHS a fee will be charged.
Well Person Checks
These are carried out by the Practice Nurses and include advice on
diet, smoking and healthy lifestyle as well as urine and blood
pressure checks.
